OBJECTIVES

The goal of this year scientific activity is to provide an update on medical issues related to ethnic groups particularly African-Americans.  Emphasis will be placed on prevention, diagnosis and treatment. The target audience is Practicing Physicians and others Health Professionals.

Our guest faculty is selected primarily from renowned academic centers across the United States and abroad.

At the conclusion of this program, the participants will become familiar with the state-of-the-art presentations in important areas of their medical practice. They should particularly be able to:

  1. Identify patients at high risk for major gastro-intestinal, cardiovascular diseases and assess them for any appropriate interventions.
  1. Have a better approach to the patients with HIV/AIDS, malignancies.
  1. Understand key aspects a) in the management of anemia and sickle cell Anemia, as well as the mentally affected patient b) in access to health care and women health in African Americans.
